John Hogan was born and reared in Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath, Ireland but has been living in the village of Croghan, Co. Offaly for the last 30 years . It was always a dream of John's to get involved in showbiz and be a singer. The opportunity for this to happen came in 1987 when using the money that was meant for his Mortgage John recorded a song that his mother used to sing to him when he was younger called 'Brown Eyes'.
Such was it's success that it headed straight to the top of the charts and remained at No. 1 for several weeks. Radio station were getting requests for the song and information on this new voice that had them hooked. John Hogan was an overnight singing sensation and he didn't even have a band. No-one knew what he looked like until he made his first appearance on RTE's Live at 3 on a sunny afternoon in 1987. After this television appearance John decided to pack in his day job as a supervisor with Bord-Na-Mona and embark on a full time career in music. Currently celebrating his 25th year in the business and still going strong. In that time John has had many ups and down along the way but the loyal support of his family and fans helped him pull through.
He has enjoyed great success with his recordings over the years especially his own self penned songs. Songwriting is a passion of John's and something he spends a lot of time doing. He has toured the length and breath of Ireland, the UK, Scotland, performed at country music events in Spain and Portugal and recorded and sang in Nashville, but the one place that is etched in his mind is the beautiful island of St. Lucia.
The people of St Lucia have taken John to their hearts following a Number 1 hit there with his own song 'Stepping Stone' They have made John a 'Freeman of St. Lucia'. Every time he tours there he is treated like royalty. It has been an amazing journey, with good and bad times but John's fans have alway stood beside him and been loyal and he will never forget that. Anyone who has been to a John Hogan show over the last 25 years will know John as a totally sincere guy, down to earth who will stay in a venue till everyone who wants to see him gets to do just that. John personally thanks everyone of his loyal fans down through the years and he looks forward to entertaining you in the years to come and making many new friends and fans on his musical journey.
